Education

As a former member of the Albemarle School board, a past PTO President and father of four children who attended Albemarle County schools; Ken Boyd remains deeply committed to maintaining a world class school system. Ken will continue to make sure that Albemarle public schools are properly funded and our teachers receive needed support.

Jobs

Ken Boyd has made jobs a top priority by having local government provide the needed environment to allow business to flourish. Ken has worked hard to bring new high quality jobs to Albemarle and prevent some of those same jobs from leaving the County. Ken has worked with organizations such as Martha Jefferson Hospital, Defense Intelligence Agency, National Ground Intelligence Center, State Farm, MicroAire, UVa, and many others to keep Albemarle’s economy vibrant.

Ken has also works closely with agribusinesses and the Farm Bureau to allow them to be successful and still maintain the rural nature of our community

Taxes

In these tough economic times it is important for government to operate efficiently and within a reasonable budget, just like Albemarle’s families and businesses have to. As a fiscal conservative, Ken has used his decades of financial experience to keep taxes in check without sacrificing core governmental services.

Water and Sewer

After decades of neglect and underfunding, Ken Boyd has worked hard to bring our deficient Water and Sewer system into the modern day and EPA compliance. Our sewer system capacity must be expanded to prevent raw sewerage from entering our streams and watershed. Since joining the Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority, Ken has worked tirelessly to assure the future of Albemarle's water supply for the next 50 years.
